Do you think that when M&S launched that advertising campaign they knew that people would be using it forever? Of course they did! That's exactly why they did it!
And the indulgence just carries on so well when we talk about facials .....
Lots of people I talk to tell me they have never had a facial, and I truly believe it is because it is perceived to be a luxury, something that may even be classed as vanity, when in effect it is the exact opposite. It is pure self-care.
Why would you not want to look after your skin?
After all, you are going to be wearing it for the rest of your life! It's your very own natural beauty. Coco Chanel said it best ....
So, why should you have a facial?
Simply, it is such a beautiful experience, why wouldn’t you?
Don’t take my word for it. Here is what the lovely Michelle had to say:
“Fiona is so friendly and welcoming and full of information about her products. The atmosphere was so relaxing, her therapy room is beautiful and so cosy. I had the anti-ageing facial which was amazing, my skin feels fresh and plump but my entire body feels like it has had a treatment as I’ve never felt this relaxed after just a facial. The little hand massage in the middle was also a lovely touch”
Whilst a facial is primarily about improving the look, feel and health of your skin, coming to my therapy room for a facial is so much more than that.
From the low light to the soothing music and the relaxing vibe of my beautiful therapy room combined with beautiful aromatherapy skincare and the light healing touch - a facial with me is a fully immersive holistic experience leaving you feeling amazing from your head down to your toes - all that and a beautiful glow to your skin.
Facials are for everyone – for those who find looking after their skin challenging and for those who love their skin – we are all natural beauties and a facial will make the most of this no matter your reason for booking.
Here are some of the benefits of having a facial.
Better looking skin
There are many elements that can damage the appearance of your skin such as the weather, working at a computer for long periods, natural ageing and a poor diet. Because of stressful modern lifestyles our skin is often lacking vital minerals and a facial treatment with high quality products can let your face absorb what it needs to replenish itself.
Facials promote blood circulation and remove dirt from the pores. They also give an even tone to the skin, reducing blemishes and giving a fairer complexion. Frequent facial appointments can reduce all your skin problems and give you healthy, younger-looking skin.
Taking time for yourself
So many of our lives are fast-paced these days and you may feel like you never have a minute to yourself. When you book in for a facial, you’re guaranteed an hour of pure interrupted pampering and relaxation.
Feeling more relaxed
While you’d expect to feel relaxed while you’re having a facial treatment done, the benefits can last well beyond your treatment. Having a natural healthy radiance and feel to your skin will help you feel calmer and more at ease with yourself as you go about your day-to-day life.
Skin that feels better
If your skin is dehydrated and suffering from a lack of attention, it can feel dry and generally unhealthy. After a facial people are often amazed at how taut and smooth their skin feels compared to before.
And then there is the cherry on top!
The facial massage! Quite possibly the greatest thing ever!
Apart from being incredibly relaxing, facial massage can help drain away tension and fluid in your face (hello, teethgrinders), as well as lift and sculpt your muscles — and the result is more radiant skin.
If we thought about how many of the muscles we use in our face in just a few hours, you’d be shocked. People regularly treat their bodies to a massage because of pain or stiffness, but not everyone views their face the same way.
So what can you expect from a massage that specifically targets the face?
The benefits include an immediate increase in blood and oxygen flow, which in the long term increases collagen production, and therefore a youthful glow. Facial massage awakens the skin so that it can respond better to the products being used.
And why does the skin need to be woken up?
Well, it may be our largest organ, however it can also be our laziest. That increase of blood and oxygen flow due to a facial massage literally makes your skin more awake, so it is more susceptible to the full effects of your treatment.
How cool is that?
That's in the immediate future. But what about long-term results from receiving facial massage?
Facial massage speeds up our circulation, allowing for skin to heal and repair itself from the damage and traumas, we put it through daily, a lot quicker!
Futhermore, if you suffer from puffiness, the light flowing touch of a drainage massage will flush out congestion. The light, gentle strokes also work magic for someone who is suffering from congestion due to allergies!
Why wouldn’t you want that? I know I do!
So, if you’ve neglected your skin for too long, give it some care by booking yourself in for a professional facial.
Believe me, your skin, and the rest of your body will thank you!
Much love
Fiona x
